Concerts & Master Classes

The Aspen Ensemble offers a wide variety of repertoire using the various possible combination of their instruments vs a typical formula evening of all quintets, quartets or trios.

College and university mini-residencies or masterclasses with The Aspen Ensemble are tailored to provide the maximum benefit to the students or attendees. Residency/ masterclass activities are appropriate for all instrumentalists and can be age-specific.

Master Classes can encompass any of the topics listed on the right. Private or Group Lessons are also available.

"Informances" are mini-concerts, typically for younger and/or family audiences, which incorporate performance and lec/dem style introductions to the instruments, composers and their music.

 

Coaching of student/faculty ensembles can include the following topics:

  • Basic ensemble playing
  • Stylistic practices from Classical through Contemporary music
  • How to approach a new work
  • The Dynamic of the ensemble (making decisions, handling artistic differences between members, etc.)

Lecture/Discussion Seminars can include the following topics:

  • Freelancing & orchestral careers
  • The Business of Music
  • Teaching as a Profession
  • The Successful Chamber Ensemble
